North Bay - In the decisive third game of a best-of-three series for the North Bay Men's League playoff final, the Canadore Panthers dominated East Side Mario's with a crushing 10-0 victory on Wednesday, securing their second straight league title.
The Panthers set the tone early, with Eric Gettler double driving in a run in the bottom of the first inning. Canadore added another run in the third, courtesy of a Jesse Seguin single, extending their lead to 3-0.
The game broke wide open in the fifth inning, where the Panthers piled on five runs off five hits. Jordan Kennedy started the rally with an RBI single, followed by a Seguin double that brought in another run. Anthony Cressatti doubled to drive in two more, and Sam Laforge capped off the inning with an RBI single.
Laforge was equally impressive on the mound for Canadore, pitching six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits. He struck out six and walked three, keeping East Side Mario's offense at bay.
Canadore Panthers racked up 12 hits overall, with Jordan Kennedy leading the charge, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Jesse Seguin, hitting from the seventh spot, was a standout, going 3-for-3 and showcasing the team's depth. Both Laforge and Gettler contributed with multiple stolen bases, as the Panthers ran wild on the base paths, tallying eight steals in total.
Defensively, Canadore was flawless, committing no errors and turning a crucial double play. Jackson Campbell was steady in the field, leading with six defensive chances.
