Sport and Wellness Student Position Descriptions

Varsity Operations Assistant

Responsible for various roles involved in hosting Varsity home games for Volleyball and Basketball. Evening and weenend work. Prior experience working in the following areas is an asset:

  • Basketball Score Clock
  • Basketball Shot Clock
  • Basketball Stats Panel
  • Basketball Stats Caller
  • Basketball Stats Inputting
  • Basketball Score Sheet
  • Volleyball Stats Sheet
  • Volleyball Score Clock

Other areas include popcorn making, court sweeper, and other responsibilities as they arise. 

Fitness and Wellness Student Assistant

Customer service pros apply here! Friendly students that are able to happly greet students, staff, faculty, and alumni as they enter our fitness facilities at our College Drive, Commerce Court, and Aviation Campuses. Main responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with check-in
  • Ensuring all equipment is clean, in good condition, and is put away properly
  • Assist users with proper use of fitness equipment
  • Answer questions about the facility, hours, and any other inquiries

Gym Technician Student Assistant

Responsible for setting up equipment for all users in our College Drive Gymnasium, including our varsity teams and other outside user groups. Experience setting up gymnasium equipment is preferred, and customer service skills are a must! Setups may include:

  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Badminton
  • and more! 

Strength and Conditioning Student Coach

This position is for second-year Strength and Sport Conditioning students that are looking to get some coaching experience! Responsibilities include:

  • Creating programs for local sports clubs
  • Coaching in-person at our Commerce Court Facility
  • De-briefing with coaches, supervisors, and faculty to ensure top quality results
  • Ability to coach all ages

Outdoor Recreation and Trails Student Assistant

This position requires working outdoors all year long. Responsibilities include:

  • Regular trail maintenance checks on our Campus Trail System
  • Assisting in hosting Outdoor Recreation Events
  • Leading beginner Trail Programs
  • Creating new Outdor Recreation Events for students
  • Contribute ideas to improve Trail useage

ESports Coordinator Student

Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and organizing our Panthers ESports team and other areas in the department that require tech assistance.
