PANTHERS COME UP SHORT THIS WEEKEND

(NORTH BAY, ON) The Canadore Panthers Men's Basketball team lost a pair of games over the weekend to the St. Clair College Saints and the Lambton College Lions.

Saturday, the Panthers welcomed the top-ranked St Clair Saints for a matinee game at the Education Centre Gym.

The Panthers traded buckets with the Saints early but were over matched by St Clair's size and physicality eventually falling 104-70.

Ty Huxtable led the Panthers with 20 points and 3 assists in the loss.

Sunday, the Panthers were back in action against the Lambton Lions.

Once again, the Panthers came out strong and got out to an early lead behind the 11 first-quarter points from Kalique Ambris.

The Lions came back in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime 58-55.

Panthers guard, Thomas Gowland was hot in the third quarter as the Panthers jumped back in front 74-70.  Unfortunately it was not meant to be as Lambton would take over in the final quarter and put the game out-of-reach.  Final score: 95-90.

Gowland lead the Panthers with 19 points.

Next up for the Panthers, the Redeemer Royals on Saturday, December 2 at 6pm in Ancaster, ON.
