PANTHERS EARN SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON

(ANCASTER, ON)  The Panthers Men's Basketball team picked up its second win of the season over the weekend as they took on the Redeemer Royals in Ancaster.

Redeemer jumped in front early as the Panthers struggled to hit shots – shooting only 31% as they trailed 27-17 after the first quarter.

The Panthers managed to trim the lead 38-35 at the half and looked poised for a big push in the second half.  At the seven-minute mark in the third quarter, the Panthers would take the lead for the first time in a game that would see 11 more lead changes.

First year forward, Logan Whitmell, would hit two free throws late and Ty Huxtable would add another to solidify the victory 77-76 for the Panthers.

Corey Boochoon led the Panthers with 20 points, 8 rebounds.

Sunday, in a tough match up on the road, the Panthers fell to the Sheridan Bruins 103-92.

Logan Whitmell had 25 points and 3 rebounds, while Corey Boochoon had a game high 30 points.

The Panthers will return in January following the holiday break.
