Panthers Men’s Volleyball Splits Weekend Matches

North Bay, ON – The Canadore College men's volleyball team earned a split this past weekend, falling 3-2 to Centennial College on January 25th before bouncing back with a 3-1 victory over George Brown College on January 26th.

The weekend began with a hard-fought battle against Centennial College. After a tight first set that saw the Panthers fall 24-26, they quickly rallied to win the second set 25-19. However, Centennial regained control in the third set, claiming a 26-24 victory. The Panthers dug deep to win the fourth set 25-13, sending the match to a deciding fifth set. Unfortunately, Centennial edged out the Panthers 15-13 in the final set to secure the 3-2 win.

The Panthers rebounded the next day in a 3-1 win over George Brown College. After losing the first set 22-25, Canadore stormed back to win the next three sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-21. Khaled Bryant was a standout performer with 13 kills and a .440 hitting percentage, while Carter Hummel contributed 9 kills. Tristan Godmaire helped run the offense, providing 35 assists. The team's strong serving and defense proved to be key in securing the win, with standout performances from Peter Ostranski-Ayles and Konrad Siedlec.
